ABOUT

A native of Joliette, Myriam is a passionate multidisciplinary artist with a deep love for human relationships. From a young age, she loved drawing, painting... and speaking in front of the class! Already driven by a thirst for freedom and a desire to do things differently, she chose to spend several summers in the United States as a teenager, where she learned English while caring for children.

Holding a DEC in Arts and Letters from Cégep Régional de Lanaudière in Joliette, she dreams of making a living from her art. She chose to follow her parents' wise advice and pursue university studies combining arts and teaching. In 2007, while studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Education at Concordia University, her life took a completely different turn when she crossed paths with her lover—the future father of her two beautiful boys—a fiery, rebellious, and creative guy, founder of the women's clothing brand Schwiing.

In 2008, with her Bacc in hand, she never took a teaching position and jumped headfirst into the adventure with him. From the moment they met, he believed in her and trusted her completely, giving her all the space to express her creativity. She then became a designer and graphic designer, and together, they traveled to India, Thailand, the Philippines, Peru, Japan, and many other countries to create their collections.

They would move from summer festivals to wholesale. Over the years, Schwiing Apparel would be present in more than 200 independent boutiques across Canada. However, the adverse consequences of the pandemic would jeopardize all their successes and efforts, and the company would declare bankruptcy in June 2023.

Faced with emptiness, shaken, Myriam chooses to surrender to time and healing. Creation, the act of painting and drawing, return at a gallop, like an oxygen mask.

Driven by a deep desire to reconnect with her childhood dream – to make a living from her art – she began the Mastery Program offered by the Milan Art Institute . This training provided her with structure, momentum, and an understanding of the artist's profession in 2025, while also nurturing her creativity.

Still in progress, this training accompanies her and stimulates her to get closer to her goal.

Myriam is working on expanding her portfolio. Her goal: to hold her first solo exhibition within the next year.

Because there is always a possible horizon…

You just have to find it. Find yourself.

An evolving approach

Each work presented here reflects a journey under construction.

"I am currently pursuing the Mastery Program at the Milan Art Institute with the goal of becoming a professional artist. The original works presented here are based on assignments, projects, and explorations completed as part of this program.

These creations don't yet define my final style—they're more the prelude to an artistic process in full development. You'll see experiments on different supports: canvas, paper, wood... Each medium is for me a playground, a learning space, and above all, a way to get a little closer to my own artistic voice.

Thank you for following this journey with me."
